The 30 Day Photo Challenge!

Finally i have my own blog!.

Well, here i'll store my 30 day photo challenge. In this month of January, many members of Worth1000.com (obviously the ones that signed up) must take a photo every day. All the photos must be of a same theme. My theme for my first time is Macro. 30 macro photos, one per day. Hope i don't miss a day, or i'm out! :S

First phot will be today. This photo is of the door. Keep in mind i'm just a beginner

  2. Hi WN! A keyhole is a good idea for your macro theme, and I like the composition too. In the spirit of Worth, I'll try to give you some suggestions :)
It's pretty hard to take a flash photo of a metal surface without getting brightly glaring areas and harsh shadows. You could try turning the flash off and setting your camera on something stable (table, shelf or a tripod if you have one). You could then play around with lighting your doorknob with a flashlight or two, sort of painting the light on with a longer shutter time. Experiment! You might be surprised at the results :)

  3. Welcome to your first 30 day challenge. May this be the first of many! Nice close up but as Lisa said - taking it without the flash would probably get a better result.

I'll take it in my next macro photos :)

  5. Excellent choice of subject, but I agree that the flash highlights are nasty distractions. Natural light is sooooo the way to go, especially with macro, unless you have off-camera flash... Wait for the lovely morning or afternoon light...

  7. Good first shot. I agree with Hickchick's (Lisa) comment as well as kimbomac. Welcome to the 30-Day challenge. You'll be surprised how much you'll grow over the next month.

  8. Love the doorknob. It makes my house's doorknobs look so boring. :) I love macro shots, am looking forward to more from you.

  11. I like it, simple but to the point.
A hint, turn off your flash, and try natural light plus if you have a tripod, you can use that with your self timer. Pop in near your subject a lamp light - sometimes all you need is a bit of extra light.
    Good luck!
